Using the online catalogues

The holdings of the Library are included on UCL's online library catalogue, eUCLid.

The results of a catalogue search will normally show all items held in the university's libraries, not just those in the Huguenot Library. To filter out non-Huguenot items in a search, add 'Huguenot' as one of your search terms.  For example:

  • To search for books in the Huguenot Library on Portarlington, type in 'Huguenot' and 'Portarlington'
  • To search for books on your family surname (eg. Mercier), type in 'Huguenot' and 'Mercier'
  • To search for books in the Huguenot Library by a particular author (eg. Robin Gwynn), type in 'Huguenot' and 'Robin Gwynn'

You may find the 'Advanced' search facility useful for more precise searches.  Using the drop-down options on the left of the screen will allow you to specify, for instance, if your search term should appear in the title or the author's name.  You can also use the facility at the bottom of the page to narrow your search by date or by language.

For general instructions on how to use eUCLid, read the guidance provided by UCL.

The archive holdings are included on UCL Special Collections' online archive database. To see full details of each entry, click on 'full record' in the search result list.
