The Library is free to Fellows of the Society, UCL library card holders and undergraduate students, and costs £10 per person per day for other readers.
The Library is open by appointment only between 10am and 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the exception of any closures shown above.
Space in the Reading Room is limited so please contact the Librarian at least one or two weeks in advance of your intended visit and await confirmation that an appointment has been made for you.
When the appointment is confirmed, you will also be sent a map and directions on how to reach the Library (which is located near Euston Station, not on the main UCL Gower Street site). Please note that the Library office is not staffed full-time and consequently it may be several days before you receive a reply.
If you are able to tell us what information you are looking for or what material you are interested in before your visit we can advise you as to its availability. This is especially important for family history researchers - we can advise as to whether we hold relevant material to try to ensure that you do not have a wasted visit. We may also have to limit access to material which is fragile or contains confidential information.
Visitors are required to abide by the rules of UCL Special Collections and the Huguenot Library, which are available for consultation in the Reading Room. In particular, please be aware that you should not use pens for taking notes, only pencils, and that the use of laptops is allowed at the discretion of the Reading Room invigilators. A qualified library professional is always available during Library opening hours to assist readers.
For more information regarding the Huguenot Library, please e-mail library@huguenotsociety.org.uk.
